This position is an opportunity to work in the Manufacturing Test Engineering team for Lumentum’s Optical Transport Subsystems division. In this role, you will guide the team responsible for implementing automated processes used to calibrate and test the company’s latest generations of telecom subsystem modules. Products include Wavelength Selective Switches (WSS), Contentionless MxN ROADMs, Optical Channel Monitors (OCM), and Dynamic Gain Equalizers (DGE). You will be part of a multidisciplinary team that provides scalable solutions to enable high-quality manufacturing of precision optical modules that form the backbone of global optical communications networks. The role involves working with state-of-the-art technologies including Liquid Crystal on Silicon (LCOS), Micro-Electro-Mechanical Systems (MEMS), Silicon Photonics (Si-Pho). Primarily it involves the integration of opto-electronic elements with digital and analog circuits, along with embedded software, to enable precise and robust functionality. The team is responsible for automated calibration and test processes that support the product from inception to volume production. These processes are aimed at achieving maximal performance and yielding important data for both R&D and manufacturing. This is done in collaboration with related teams such as embedded firmware, hardware, and optical design, as well as interfacing with global manufacturing.
