Role & seniority: Software QA Tester (short-term, contract) for Virtual Assistant devices with emphasis on voice-enabled tech; embedded in QA team.
Stack/tools: Manual testing; test plan/case creation and review; log capture; JIRA for defect tracking; familiarity with voice-enabled devices (Siri/Alexa/Google Voice); German-English bilingual capability preferred.
Create/review test plans and test cases; execute manual tests for functionality, performance, and UX.
Verify/validate issues, reproduce bugs, capture logs, file and track JIRAs/defects; generate test reports and communicate status.
Perform human-level assessment of de-DE LLM responses for accuracy/chattiness vs. English.
Fluent German utterances for voice-enabled devices (or German-English bilingual capability); ability to read/translate German audio/text to English and vice versa.
Bachelor’s degree in CS/Software Engineering or related field.
1+ years of software QA testing experience; familiarity with voice-enabled devices (Siri, Alexa, Google Voice).
Experience with bug tracking tools (JIRA).
QA experience with in-vehicle infotainment or consumer electronics.
Familiarity with CAN, LIN, Automotive Ethernet; strong debugging of integrated systems.

At this time, we are looking for a strong Software QA Tester for Virtual Assistant devices with an emphasis on voice enabled technology and German utterances. You'll be embedded with a QA team at the Whitefield office in Bengaluru, India to test for functionality, performance, and user experience meet industry standards.
Term: Short term 3-months
Days/hours: Monday to Friday during standard IST business hours
Capacity: Up to 40 hours per week

Payrate range: $10 to $12 USD per hour

Qualifications
Language(s): Ideally German-English bilingual but at a minimum, to fluently perform German utterances with voice-enabled devices/technology; read and translate German audio/text to English and vice versa.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
Experience: 1+ years of experience in software QA testing; fluent using Siri, Alexa, Google Voice, etc. voice-enabled devices
Tools: Experience with bug tracking tools (JIRA)
Preferred Qualifications QA testing experience with in-vehicle infotainment systems or consumer electronics. Familiarity with automotive communication protocols (CAN, LIN, Automotive Ethernet). Strong debugging skills and capability to troubleshoot complex, integrated systems.
