Job Summary: Plans and conducts activities concerned with the quality control and quality assurance of industrial processes, materials, and products by performing the following duties.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, implement, and maintain quality standards, procedures, and documentation. Perform root cause analysis and lead corrective and preventive actions. Plan, conduct, and support inspections, audits, and testing activities. Use statistical process control (SPC) and other analytical tools to monitor process performance. Conduct PFMEA, control plans, and other core quality planning activities. Review engineering drawings, specifications, and change orders for quality impact. Maintain detailed, accurate documentation for inspections, audits, and quality reports. Performs quality engineering reviews of design documentation for compliance with stated requirements, including vendor quality manuals and company quality records. Reviews all purchased products or components and provides input to the decision to accept the product and future purchases from the vendor. Documents data obtained during all quality activities consistent with company policies and procedures. Communicates significant issues or developments identified during quality activities and provides recommended process improvements to management. Prepares and presents technical and program information to team members and management. Maintains a working knowledge of government regulations, industry quality codes and standards. Support new product introduction with quality requirements and validation methods. Investigate customer complaints and support customer-facing quality activities. Collaborate with production, engineering, suppliers, and management on quality-related issues. Prepares and presents technical and program information to team members and management. Train employees on quality standards, inspection methods, and best practices. Programs, operates, and interprets results from Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) to verify product conformance and support root-cause investigations. Occasional travel required.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field is highly desired. Knowledge of Auto-Cad and Solid-Works design software; Word Processing software; Spreadsheet software.
Preferred Qualifications
ASQ-CQE highly desired.
