Job Title: Quality Assurance Compliance Specialist
Job Description
This role supports quality assurance and compliance efforts for a large-scale airport baggage handling system project. The position focuses on field inspections, quality reporting, and coordination with engineering, construction, and operations teams. The role verifies construction work against permit drawings, approved submittals, RFIs, and regulatory requirements, documenting compliance and deficiencies through formal quality reports.
Responsibilities
Monitor conveyor assembly, electrical controls, and system interfaces, and track corrective actions through follow-up inspections. Collaborate with engineering, construction, and operations teams to support inspections, mock-ups, and system walk-throughs. Verify that structural assemblies, conveyors, catwalks, platforms, step-overs, and connections match permit drawings and approved submittals. Align work with RFIs and Certificates of Compliance/Shop Inspections. Cross-check and record all conveyor assembly components received on site. Attend day-shift inspections and prepare Quality Reports in ACC. Prepare Quality Reports for night-shift inspections. Participate in quality follow-up walks with airport QA inspectors. Attend inspections with airport operations/logistics teams and prepare special reports. Track and document progress on open electrical and mechanical issues. Support mock-up documentation for conveyor system electrical and control device installations. Perform additional quality-related tasks as required.
Essential Skills
Minimum 2 years of experience in industrial plants, manufacturing environments, or airport/conveyance systems. Strong understanding of Quality Assurance processes, Quality Management principles, and regulatory requirements, especially for electrical and baggage handling systems. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or related field preferred. Relevant certifications are a plus.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Engineering background preferred, especially in electrical, mechanical, or structural disciplines. Quality Auditing & Quality Control experience. Bilingual skills are a strong plus.
Work Environment
The work environment is a small, relaxed office with high levels of independence and autonomy. There are strong tenure and annual salary growth opportunities, with the ability to grow long-term within the organization. On-site access includes golf cart usage in the lower level of the airport, and parking is available. The work schedule is typically from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with four days on-site and Fridays remote, although occasional Friday on-site work is required. There is daily schedule flexibility for a few hours as needed. The project is expected to last through 2028, with a minimum commitment of 2 years and a strong likelihood of continued employment beyond project completion.
