Full Description
Position: Systems Test Engineer-Mid
The Opportunity
Alpha Omega Group (AOG), LLC is seeking a highly skilled Systems Test Engineer to join our team in support of a critical initiative for the Program Executive Office Command, Control, Communications, Computers and Intelligence (PEO C4I). This role is focused on ensuring the operational suitability and resilience of Microsoft 365 (M365) services for the fleet in Denied, Disconnected, Intermittent, and Limited (DDIL) naval environments.
You will be responsible for the end-to-end management of a representative M365 environment within the DISA Stratus Cloud. Your primary mission will be to execute rigorous, systematic stress tests to discover the performance limits and failure points of core M365 services when subjected to simulated, bandwidth-constrained SATCOM conditions. This position involves hands-on work with cloud orchestration platforms (VMware), federated identity management tools (Radiant Logic), and third-party applications. Your findings will be vital for determining how modern collaboration tools will function for warfighters at the tactical edge, directly influencing the future of shipboard C4I capabilities.
Basic Qualifications
· 5+ years of experience in systems engineering, integration, or testing.
· 3+ years of experience with Microsoft enterprise environments, including Windows Server, Active Directory, and M365 services (SharePoint, Exchange).
· Experience with virtualization and cloud platforms (e.g., VMware, Azure, AWS).
· Demonstrated experience with scripting for automation (e.g., PowerShell, Python).
· Solid understanding of networking principles, including TCP/IP, DNS, and the impact of latency and limited bandwidth.
· Clearance Requirement: Secret
· Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field required.
Additional Qualifications
· Direct experience with testing in DDIL or bandwidth-constrained environments
· Hands-on experience with VMware Cloud Director or similar cloud orchestration platforms.
· Experience with federated identity management solutions such as Radiant Logic or Okta.
· Familiarity with network emulation tools used to simulate latency and packet loss.
· Knowledge of AvePoint DocAve, Quest "One Email," or similar M365 migration/management tools.
· Experience with secure communication protocols and managing server certificates.
· Familiarity with DoD C4I systems and naval network architectures.
Key Responsibilities
· Configure and maintain a representative M365 test environment within DISA Stratus Cloud using VMware Cloud Director, simulating Enterprise HQ and multiple shipboard Tactical Nodes.

· Manage and configure identity services, including Radiant Logic and localized Active Directory instances, to ensure identity portability and authentication in disconnected scenarios.
· Evaluate the installation, configuration, and evaluation of third-party M365 tools, including the integration of DocAve with SharePoint and the optimization of the "One Email" migration tool.
· Manage platform security by installing and maintaining server certificates for secure communication and support the deployment of tactical applications such as Element.
· Design and execute systematic DDIL stress tests to evaluate M365 and integrated tools under simulated SATCOM conditions, including throttled bandwidth (4–8 Mbps) and high latency (700ms–1200ms).
· Thoroughly document system performance, identify specific service "break points," and characterize degraded state behaviors to produce comprehensive test reports and actionable findings.
Work Model
Location: San Diego, CA. This position is listed as onsite at government facilities. You'll work with colleagues and clients in person, as needed for the specific role. There are limited opportunities for remote work and flexible hours during the work week, as approved by the Contract Program Manager.
