Software Test Engineer – Embedded Security / Chipset Validation

We are working in partnership with a leading global technology company who are expanding their security validation capability. They are seeking a Staff Software Test Engineer to support the verification of advanced security technologies integrated into next-generation chipsets. This opportunity offers a strong balance of hands-on embedded testing and development of robust, scalable automation solutions.

This position is full time onsite in Cork, Ireland (5 days per week)

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain automated test frameworks and scripts using Python and XML
• Design detailed validation strategies to verify security algorithms, protocols, and their interaction with system-level applications
• Implement test applications at both API and full system level using C and C++
• Execute validation cycles on embedded platforms, including debugging, issue isolation, and root cause analysis
• Work cross-functionally with software developers, system architects, and validation engineers to ensure product quality
• Drive improvements in automation coverage, efficiency, and overall test methodology

Key Requirements

• Degree in Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, or a related technical discipline
• Extensive experience working with C, C++, and Python in a development or test environment
• Proven background in embedded software testing and system-level validation
• Experience building and maintaining automated test solutions
• Understanding of cryptography and security protocols would be beneficial
• Self-motivated individual who can work independently while contributing effectively within a collaborative team
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
