This role is responsible for functional testing, diagnosing, and repairing printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs) to ensure compliance with performance and quality standards. The technician utilizes test equipment, schematics, and technical documentation to identify faults and repair down to the component level.
Your tasks
Perform rudimentary and functional testing on PCB assemblies using test fixtures and test system Troubleshoot and repair defective boards to the component level using schematics and test equipment Document failure modes, repair actions, and test results accurately in logs or databases Use oscilloscopes, multimeters, spectrum analyzers, and other diagnostic equipment effectively Support root cause analysis and corrective actions for recurring board-level failures Communicate findings and recommendations to production, engineering and quality teams Interpret and work from schematics, layout diagrams, test procedures, and assembly drawings Assist in the development and improvement of test processes and troubleshooting guides
Your Qualifications
Diploma in Electronics, Telecommunication Technology or relevant engineering field 2+ years of experience testing and troubleshooting electronic assemblies at the board level Strong understanding of analog and digital circuit principles Proficient in reading and interpreting schematics and PCB layout drawings Hands-on experience with soldering, desoldering, and rework of electronic components Experience in using test instruments including oscilloscopes, multimeters, spectrum analyzer, and power supplies Familiarity with IPC-A-610 and IPC-7711/7721 standards Strong attention to detail and analytical thinking Experience in a contract manufacturing or high-mix, low-volume environment Familiarity with automated test systems or boundary scan tools Experience working with RF or high-speed digital circuits is a plus
