Role & seniority: Power Test Technician / Associate-level role (Power Testing)
Stack/tools: electrical test equipment (Volt/Ohm meters, oscilloscope, power analyzers, hypot tester, multimeters), precision instruments, SCCT cabinets, switchgear, UPS modules (single/multi-module), wrenches, wire strippers, PC/Software for test setup
Conduct functional and witness testing of UPS modules and power-test systems; perform inspections and troubleshoot/repair faulty components
Verify conformance to NEC/UL/CSA standards; review orders, operate components, ensure product quality, and support agency approvals
Collaborate with Test/Manufacturing Engineers to develop/modify test equipment and work instructions; prep and connect system equipment and perform preliminary tests
Ability to work with high voltage; knowledge of single- and 3-phase power circuits; analog/digital electronics
Proficiency with electrical measurement tools; basic computer skills; ability to read SFA transmittals/drawings
Strong problem-solving, written/verbal communication, teamwork, and safety awareness
Experience with UPS products (single and multi-module) and high-power testing
Completion of formal Power Test training program or equivalent demonstrated training/experience
Ability to learn software tools and test procedures quickly
Location & work type: United States; on-site, full-time (no sponsorship; must
*** Tools used include, but are not limited to the following:** precision measuring instruments, pressure gauges, pneumatic tools, Volt/Ohm meters, oscilloscope, and other power (volt/amp) measuring equipment. In addition, wrenches, screwdrivers, wire strippers, and crimping tools.
*** Equipment used includes, but are not limited to the following:** hypot tester, multi meters, wave and power analyzer, oscilloscope, personal computer and Cullinet terminal.
*** Must possess the following attributes:** 1) Ability to work with high voltage in the Power Test area; 2) Knowledge of single and 3-phase electrical circuits (high power), and knowledge of analog and digital electronic circuitry; 3) Ability to use standard electrical instruments; 4) Basic computer skills; 5) Ability to learn to use Software as appropriate; 6) Excellent written and verbal communication skills; 7) Excellent problem-solving skills. Associate must maintain regular attendance and have the ability to work in a team environment.
