The MSBU (Mobile Solution Business Unit) Division at Skyworks is focused on the design and manufacture of a broad range of high performance analog and mixed signal semiconductors that enable wireless connectivity. Our power amplifiers, front-end modules, integrated radio frequency solutions, and discrete components can be found in many of the cellular handsets offered by the world's leading handset manufacturers. In this role, your mission is to support complex test solutions for cutting-edge, high-performance Power Amplifier products and sub-systems for cellular handset applications. The successful candidate will possess strong RF testing and automation background and be a driven, committed team player. As a Test Development Engineer, you will provide cutting- edge and innovative test solutions in a fast-paced team environment.
Responsibilities
Building and automating rack-and-stack setups in an R&D environment. Candidate will be playing a critical role in lab setup preparation and test automation. Investigating and developing RF test solutions. In this role, the candidate will create test plans, automation, SCPI/C++ scripting. Setup debugging and troubleshooting. Setup and automation optimization. Evaluate test time and cost reduction. Investigate new and innovative test solution, Create test procedures and documentation for internal use. Read and interpret technical documents including schematics, datasheets, test procedures.
Interface with industry test solution leaders: Keysight, NI, R&S, Maury, etc.
Required Experience And Skills
BSEE + 8 years experience of RF Test development and automation, MS Degree + 6 years experience preferred A strong understanding of RF fundamentals, PA fundamentals, 2G/2.5G/3G/4G system, industry standard test methods, test equipment operation, capabilities, limitations, trouble-shooting, and automation is critical for success. Strong expertise in using RF instruments including signal generators, PSA, VNA, oscilloscope, power meters and load pull tuners. Experience in test routine software development using C++/C, Labview or similar scripting language is essential. Strong attention to detail, meticulous documentation standards, strong written and verbal communication skills, and ability to work within a diverse team-structured environment is mandatory.
Desired Experience And Skills
Familiarity with GSM/EDGE/WCDMA/TD-SCDMA/TD-LTE/FDD-LTE measurements: ACLR, EVM, SEM mask, PAE, IMD, S-parameters, load-pull, PVT, Ruggedness, Stability, Noise, SSG, sensitivity. ESD C++/C#/SCPI scripting or equivalent tools
Proficient in lab equipment: Spectrum Analyzers, VNA, Signal generators, power supplies and battery emulators, pulse generators, Oscilloscope, couplers, isolators, filters, duplexers. Proficient in MS-Office
Familiarity data communication protocols: GPIB, USB, PCI, TCP-IP, RS232 Strong problem solving ability Experience with cellular power amplifiers is highly desired
The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is currently USD $114,400 - $220,200 per year. Starting base pay will depend on relevant experience and skills, training and education, business needs, market demands, the ultimate job duties and requirements, and work location.
