Job Description

We are seeking an experienced QA Specialist to join Capital One s Credit Card Authorization team in Richmond, VA. The selected candidate will be responsible for testing card functionalities and ensuring system accuracy across various transaction types. This is a hybrid position, requiring local candidates who can work onsite 3 days a week.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and execute manual and automated test cases for credit card authorization processes.

Simulate various credit card usage scenarios to validate transaction processing and system behavior.

Perform backend validation using TSYS and related financial systems.

Utilize Splunk for log analysis, troubleshooting, and validation of test results.

Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and other QA team members to ensure high-quality deliverables.

Document defects, track resolutions, and ensure comprehensive test coverage.

Participate in test planning, review sessions, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Skills & Experience

3+ years of experience in Quality Assurance and software testing.

Experience testing credit card or financial transaction systems (banking/financial domain experience is mandatory).

Hands-on experience with TSYS and familiarity with Splunk for log validation.

Strong understanding of SDLC, QA methodologies, and defect lifecycle management.

Experience creating and executing test cases, test scenarios, and performing UAT.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Nice to Have

Prior experience working with Capital One or in large financial institutions.

Exposure to automation testing tools and SQL queries.

Knowledge of payment authorization, transaction flows, or payment gateways.
