Business Systems Analysts are a primary interface between projects and business partners. They are responsible for developing requirements and specifications that support the projects they are assigned to and for understanding current and future processes and where applicable, including processes for the entire enterprise. They gather and document business needs and requirements, and assist with generating project business cases. They also provide guidance to stakeholders on devising effective and efficient approaches to achieve the project objectives. Essential Functions: Responsible for developing requirements and specifications that support the projects assigned to: business requirements, functional requirements, system requirements, and report specifications. Develops test scenarios and test cases for use in system and integration testing. Guides to partners on devising effective and efficient approaches to achieve the desired business outcomes. Guides in the modelling/mapping of business processes; conducts as-is/to-be business processes, is instrumental in the business process re-engineering (BPR) and involved in the organizational change exercise. Writes and presents cases. Retest and document existing tasks/defects Occasionally required to work evening and weekends as needed. Education/Experience High school diploma required. College degree preferred Minimum of 3 years of relevant professional experience Hands-on experience with Agile, Use Cases preferred Insurance experience preferred Required Skills: Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Assertive, flexible, pro-active, team player with a strong sense of ownership. Ability to manage ambiguity in business needs and requirements. Excellent interpersonal and communications skills, both written and verbal. Process and Procedures oriented Proficiency with MS word, Excel and Visio Understanding of databases, tables and fields in order to pull SQL queries a big plus Ability to manage and complete multiple, concurrent tasks with multiple user interfaces.
