Role & seniority: Quality Assurance / Customer Quality Interface Lead for Oetiker Japan Co. Ltd (OEJ);mid-senior level (minimum ~5 years automotive QA experience)
Stack / tools: IATF 16949-based quality systems; AIAG Core Tools (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, SPC); 8D problem solving; 5Why analysis; quality software/documentation systems
Act as primary quality contact for Japan customers; represent Oetiker’s quality interests; ensure transparent communication of performance and requirements
Support sales on customer projects; implement customer-specific quality requirements; manage PPAP timelines, milestones, approvals, and action plans with factories
Track customer claims, coordinate sorting, conduct warranty analysis, and ensure systematic reporting and follow-up; coordinate cross-functional escalation as needed
Strong knowledge of IATF 16949 and automotive quality systems
Proficiency with AIAG Core Tools (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, SPC)
8D problem solving and 5Why analysis
Excellent communication, teamwork, and cross-cultural collaboration
English (proficient) and Japanese (native)
Experience in manufacturing process control and continuous improvement
Experience with audits, customer interface training, and quality documentation systems
Ability to independently manage project timelines and quality milestones

Essential Functions
Required Travel: max. 20% Additional Information Education / Experience Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field. Minimum 5 years of quality experience in an automotive manufacturing environment. Experience working directly with customers on quality topics. Experience in manufacturing process control and continuous improvement. Experience with quality software and documentation systems.
