Role & seniority: Senior/Lead Customer Quality Engineer (OEJ) representing Oetiker quality for Japan; interface to customers and site management.
Stack/tools: Automotive quality systems (IATF 16949); AIAG Core Tools (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, SPC); 8D, 5Why problem solving; quality management systems (e.g., B&W); customer audits; quality software/documentation.
Act as primary quality contact for Japan customers; communicate performance and requirements transparently.
Support sales in projects; manage customer-specific quality requirements, PPAP timelines, milestones, approvals, and action plans with factories.
Track claims, conduct warranty analysis, coordinate sorting, and ensure follow-up; cross-functional coordination with OEJ and global locations.
In-depth knowledge of IATF 16949 and automotive quality systems.
Proficiency in AIAG Core Tools (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, SPC); 8D and 5Why problem solving.
Excellent communication, teamwork, structured/problem-solving mindset; English proficiency plus native Japanese.
Ability to collaborate across departments and cultures; minimum 5 years automotive QA experience; customer-facing experience.
Experience with OEJ or similar regional customer interfaces; experience with audits and quality documentation systems; process control and continuous improvement background.
