Full Description

Job Summary

The Valve Tester is responsible for testing, inspecting, and verifying the performance and safety of valves used in oil and gas operations, including but not limited to control valves, ball valves and gate valves. This role ensures that all valves meet regulatory, client, and operational standards prior to installation, during maintenance cycles, or after repairs.

Key Responsibilities

· Perform pressure, functional, seat leakage, and hydrostatic testing on various valve types.
· Read and interpret valve specifications, technical drawings, and testing procedures.
· Operate test benches, gauges, and testing equipment.
· Document all testing results in accordance with company and industry standards.
· Work closely with QA/QC, and engineering teams to ensure operational readiness.
· Comply with all HSE (Health, Safety, and Environmental) policies and safety standards.
· Maintain a clean and organized valve testing area and ensure tools/equipment are in good working condition.
· Participate in audits, inspections, and quality assurance processes as required.

Qualifications

· High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification in mechanical systems is preferred.
· Minimum 2 years of experience in valve testing, preferably in the oil and gas or related industry.
· Familiarity with valve testing standards such as API-6D & 598
· Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of valve operations.
· Ability to use test benches, pressure gauges, torque tools, and calibrated equipment.
· Attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality.
· Basic computer skills for data entry and report generation.
