The Data Verification Analyst works to support the Team Lead, Associate Team Lead, and Technical Specialists to ensure accurate and reliable data flow within the team. This individual provides oversight to technicians and other analysts in support of project data verification and quality assurance. The position involves both independent and collaborative work, focusing on data extraction, review, and validation while maintaining a high level of QA/QC. The Analyst produces consistent, verified datasets and works to develop process efficiencies and improve verification methodologies.

Responsibilities
Conduct rigorous verification of airborne and mobile LiDAR and imagery datasets to ensure completeness, accuracy, and consistency Extract LiDAR, orthoimagery, and related datasets using sensor-specific processing suites (e.g., RiProcess) from raw formats Perform QA/QC checks on raw and processed data to meet accuracy and project specifications Maintain awareness of the status of all projects within the team, prioritizing tasks and coordinating efforts to improve efficiency Serve as a role model for the team by motivating staff, strengthening skills, and promoting high standards of quality Exhibit strong product/client knowledge, critical thinking, technical confidence, and independence Apply relative and absolute adjustments to datasets as needed for verification purposes Maintain excellent data management and file organization practices Identify and understand sources of error in airborne/mobile datasets Apply and adapt scripts, models, and macros across multiple GIS/LiDAR platforms to support verification processes Select appropriate methods and techniques for problem resolution and troubleshooting Demonstrate technical proficiency with ESRI, CADD, and vector-based software Assist in monitoring technical KPIs, including workflow velocity and throughput Proactively improve processes and verification efficiency Contribute creatively to the development of unique verification methods Provide mentorship and training to team members in best practices for data verification
Qualifications
2+ years of experience in a professional GIS or data verification environment Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent experience Able to work 3+ days per week in our Portland, OR office Excellent written and verbal communication skills Self-motivated and eager to learn, with aptitude to grow in the field Able to maintain a positive, flexible approach amidst shifting priorities and workflow changes
3+ years of experience in GIS or data verification, with experience in LiDAR/trajectory review Master’s degree in geography, environmental studies/science, planning, or related field with GIS emphasis Strong leadership skills, including facilitation, training, team building, organization, and problem-solving Proficiency in ESRI or vector-based software, MicroStation, and TerraSolid products
