A nationally recognised legal services business experiencing strong growth is seeking a proactive and technically strong QA Manager to lead quality assurance across a high-impact programme involving offshore development teams. This role will be central to ensuring that all software deliverables, both functional and non-functional, consistently meet business needs, quality standards and regulatory expectations before release.
You’ll take ownership of QA strategy and execution, champion rigorous testing practices and work closely with cross-functional teams to improve delivery quality and confidence across distributed teams.
Responsibilities
Own the QA strategy and execution plan for a complex programme involving geographically distributed development and QA teams.
Define and enforce quality standards across functional (e.g., accuracy, usability) and non-functional (e.g., performance, security, scalability) requirements.
Partner with business analysts, architects and delivery leads to ensure requirements are clear, testable and well understood.
Collaborate with offshore QA and development teams to align test execution, defect management and reporting processes.
Review and validate test plans, test scripts and overall test coverage to ensure completeness and effectiveness.
Ensure full traceability from business requirements through test cases to results.
Coordinate performance, security and integration testing activities where required.
Identify and mitigate quality-related risks early in the delivery lifecycle.
Provide regular reporting to stakeholders on test progress, defect trends and quality KPIs.
Support go/no-go decisions through readiness assessments and clear test outcome analysis.
What We’re Looking For
Proven experience leading QA on large-scale or distributed software development projects.
Previous management experience with responsibility for coaching and guiding QA professionals.
Strong knowledge of both functional and non-functional test practices.
Experience partnering with product, technical, and business stakeholders to validate and test evolving requirements.
Comfortable working across Agile, Hybrid or Waterfall delivery models.
Hands-on experience with test management and defect tracking tools (e.g., Azure DevOps or similar).
Familiarity with automated testing and continuous integration pipelines.
Excellent communication, coordination and stakeholder reporting skills.
