Job Summary We are looking for a Test Specialist Engineer to join Distech Controls, a company specialized in designing and manufacturing building automation systems. You will be part of our Product Life Cycle team and play a key role in the continuous improvement of our solutions. Your responsibilities will include executing test strategies, managing test benches, and validating technical modifications to our products to ensure their compliance and performance.Key Tasks & Responsibilities (Essential Functions) Analyze, prepare, and perform product tests following maintenance and/or improvement projects.
Analyze technical documentation and product functional specifications.
Define test plans: scenarios, test protocols, and appropriate measurement methodologies. Conduct verification and validation tests to ensure product compliance. Collaborate with R&D, hardware design life cycle, production, and quality teams to define and execute the required tests.
Proactively monitor existing products and test benches
Perform technological monitoring of ongoing products and associated test benches. Identify opportunities for improving test benches and associated procedures. Organize the transfer of test benches developed by R&D to the Product Life Cycle group. Supervise and ensure the preventive and corrective maintenance of test benches to guarantee their availability.
Prepare and distribute test, anomaly, and qualification reports
Document test results and analyses, including performance deviations from specifications. Write clear and actionable reports for internal teams (R&D, production, quality). Skills and Minimum Experience Required
Education: DEC (Diploma of College Studies), Electrical Engineering Technology: Automation and Control
5 to 10 years of experience in a similar position Knowledge of testing systems, measurement tools, and testing technique (test benches, automation, instrumentation) Understanding of communication protocols such as LonWorks and BACnet and their application in building control systems Proficiency with IT tools and software used for test management (test benches, reporting, and analysis software) Strong analytical and synthesis skills. Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills Proficiency in office software (e.g., MS Office)
