At Praetorian Aeronautics, we don’t build aircraft to sit in labs.
We build advanced UAS that are expected to perform in real operational environments. And our performance is proven, not assumed.
We are looking for a Test & Evaluation Engineer who wants to own that proof.
You’ll join our Flight Vehicle Development team at a time when multiple Counter-UAS programs are moving through intensive integration and flight testing phases.
If you’re the kind of engineer who cares about how things behave outside the simulation, this role will feel familiar.
What You’ll Be Responsible For
You won’t just contribute to test plans. You’ll lead them.
Develop and own program-level T&E Master Plans aligned to system requirements and milestones. Structure and execute disciplined ground and flight test campaigns across multiple programs. Work directly with systems, software, avionics and mechanical engineers to ensure requirements are testable and validated. Lead flight test activities, from planning and safety coordination through to post-flight analysis. Oversee subsystem integration, environmental testing, and full system-level validation. Manage test risks, configuration control, and issue resolution throughout the lifecycle. Produce clear, defensible test documentation - plans, procedures, verification matrices and reports. Mentor and guide Test Engineers, strengthening our overall T&E capability.
You’ll move between engineering review sessions and live test environments. Between planning discipline and real-world execution. Between data and decision-making.
This role requires structured thinking and composure when systems don’t behave exactly as predicted.
What You Bring
You are an experienced Test & Evaluation Engineer who understands that structure enables performance.
Proven Test Engineering experience within complex aerospace or Defence programs. Strong understanding of Systems Engineering lifecycle, V&V methodologies, and requirements traceability. Experience planning and executing structured ground and flight test campaigns, including operations in regulated airspace (RePL desirable). Demonstrated leadership experience mentoring or managing engineering teams. Experience working with autonomous aircraft systems and integration environments. The ability to manage multiple programs and priorities in dynamic, multidisciplinary settings. Knowledge of aircraft and Counter-UAS systems; Defence experience preferred.
