Role & seniority: Child Placement Verification Staff (mid-level) within the Child Placing Agency; works under the Director/Executive staff and collaborates with foster parents, families, and youth.
Stack/tools: Electronic client management system for documentation; adherence to Employee Handbook; confidentiality and record-keeping controls; requires reliable personal vehicle for travel.
Recruit and verify suitability of foster parents; supervise and ensure compliance with agency philosophy and minimum standards.
Maintain and manage application/verification documentation; coordinate with foster families, guardians, and youth; support permanency goals (reunification/adoption).
Collaborate with youth, families, other agencies, and staff; provide crisis intervention when needed; participate in program development and community outreach.
Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, or related human services field.
Experience with at-risk youth and trauma-informed approaches; conflict resolution/crisis intervention.
Strong organizational, time management, written/oral/electronic communication skills; ability to work independently and in teams.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to standards/policies; ability to drive to assigned areas.
Experience in a Child Placing Agency or foster care context; knowledge of DFPS minimum standards.

We are looking for an individual to join our Child Placing Agency team of dedicated employees who desire to help kids and adolescents find safe, stable and permanent, Forever Families. Through our Child Placing Agency, we recruit and train families to provide a home to boys and girls, ages birth to adulthood, who have been removed from their biological homes due to neglect and/or abuse. Our Child Placement Verification Staff work closely with our Child Placing Agency Administrator and is responsible for recruitment and verification of foster parents in the Abilene and the surrounding areas as well as and all Child Placement Staff, families, and children involved. This position works directly with foster parents, legal guardians, and conservators while receiving direction from the Director and Executive level staff when needed. The position also works directly with kids who may exhibit behavioral problems related to the trauma they have experienced.
