Quality Engineering Intern

Aptiv's Connection Systems (CS) segment delivers a full range of advanced connection solutions to make vehicles safer, greener and more connected with innovations in high voltage, data connectivity, electrical centers, safety-critical connectors and much more.

Your Role

The Quality Engineering Intern will support the Quality Engineering team in developing, implementing and maintaining warranty analysis processes with all customers, striving for issues resolutions, interfacing with Product Engineering and Manufacturing teams on investigation of root causes and implementation of corrective actions. Ensure warranty costs management and communication with finance teams, pursuing costs reduction and accurate provisions. This position will be located in Troy, MI.

Key job responsibilities for this role include

Learn customers’ warranty procedures and monitor their portals for warranty claims. Review warranty claims per customers' requirements to identify problems. Participate in warranty returns and testing. Participate in root cause analysis using problem solving tools. Work with engineering teams to define and implement design and/or manufacturing changes to fix warranty issues. Maintain accurate records of warranty claims, investigations, and resolutions. Analyze warranty data and trends to identify risks and proactively address potential customer concerns and/or high warranty costs. Identify and communicate warranty claims and/or costs charged inappropriately to Aptiv. Collaborate with finance and customer service teams to track warranty costs, make future estimates, support claims reconciliation, and ensure accurate reporting of warranty-related expenditures .

Experience & Qualifications

Pursuing degree in Engineering Must maintain minimum 3.0 GPA Well versed on Microsoft suite software, specifically Excel and PowerPoint
