Job Title: Qualification Engineer (In-Flight Entertainment Systems)

Position Overview

Our client is seeking an experienced and hands-on Qualification Engineer to manage and execute the complete qualification testing program for their airborne In-Flight Entertainment (IFE) equipment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for verifying product performance against rigorous aerospace standards, authoring test plans and reports, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with FAA and EASA requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Design and Software groups, to ensure product testability and requirement alignment. Identify and prepare necessary support equipment to execute performance verification and Automated Test Procedures (ATPs). Collect and analyze data for the development and refinement of Qualification Test Procedures. Lead and support all pre-qualification testing activities. Work directly with third-party laboratories to coordinate and oversee specialized testing.

Manage all activities related to the execution of the formal qualification test program, including

  • Developing and maintaining the test schedule and chronological order of test activities.
  • Overseeing the setup and integration of the test lab and all support equipment.
  • Providing regularly scheduled status reports to stakeholders.
  • Collecting and thoroughly reviewing all test lab data and final reports.
  • Create and author official Qualification Test Reports (QTRs) required to demonstrate product compliance with all established requirements.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or Aerospace). 5-15 years of experience in airframe qualification requirements, specifically verifying Aerospace product performance through qualification testing. Must have in-depth knowledge of FAA Part 25 and EASA CS Part 25 requirements related to airborne In-Flight Entertainment (IFE) equipment.

Hands-on experience with

  • Electrical/EMI and Environmental (ENV) test procedures, including test setup and wiring.
  • Operating temperature and pressure chambers.
  • Performing Line-Replaceable Unit (LRU) qualification testing.
  • Using vibration and acceleration test equipment.
  • Integrating and monitoring feedback devices such as accelerometers and thermocouples.
  • Demonstrated experience in the development and authoring of comprehensive test plans and procedures.
